In May of 2011, Marcy Nordwall, owner of the Serenity’s property since 1989, passed the torch of ownership on to us - Jen, Mark , and, our son, Raiden. Marcy, and her late husband Earl, did a wonderful job of creating a setting, in both the cabins and bistro, where people can relax, enjoy, and connect.  We look forward to continuing this tradition while adding our own dreams to what Marcy and Earl started so many years ago.

Many friends and guests have asked why Trout Lake , why Mt. Adams, and why Serenity’s?  Ok, to be honest, many of them just stopped after asking…why?  For us, the Trout Lake community and Mt Adams country is an ideal location to raise our family and work together toward our future.  For Jen, who’s originally from the small community of Soldotna, Alaska, Trout Lake is perfect for raising a family.  As one local resident put it, “there are a lot of free-range kids running around (Trout Lake and Mt Adams).”  The community of Trout Lake is amazingly diverse, amazingly friendly…just pretty amazing.

For Mark, who’s lived and worked all over the globe, the challenge of operating a family run business, in an industry that allows him to share a beautiful place in the Pacific Northwest with others, fits perfectly with his passion for meeting new people, spending time with family, and dealing with continually changing challenges.  Yes, he actually thinks going from purchasing wines for the bistro, fixing leaking sinks, to figuring out business projections is fun.

As for why Serenity’s, you’ll need to come see for yourself.  Whether you need a family vacation, a group retreat, or a cozy hideaway, you could not ask for a better spot.

All three of us look forward to meeting you and having you stay with us and in wonderful Trout Lake and share the beauty of the Mt Adams country. (…OK…Raiden may not know he is looking forward to meeting you, but he will stare at you a lot…and drool, which we think means the same thing.)
